It seems funny to me that a character was introduced into the series, but has yet to reveal his significance in the Mario universe. Sure, we can all agree that Nintendo wanted to maintain a balance with Luigi, just as they did with Mario, by having a villainous counterpart. But, was this a fair comparison? I want you to think hard about the question I am about to ask you. "Who do you like more, Mario or Luigi?" Aha! There is the million-dollar question, isn't it? Who is the superior brother? Well, in my opinion, both are great but I lean slightly in favor of Luigi. I can guarantee that I am not alone in this opinion, either. My point is, if so many people love Luigi, and Waluigi is his rival, then why hasn't Waluigi been present in a main game to explain this unrevealed rivalry?

I do not think that Nintendo should release a game solely based on Waluigi. His popularity amongst the public seems to be shaky, at best. He wasn’t even included in Mario Kart 7. For some unknown reason though, Wario and Daisy (both rivals) were. Wario however, seems to be a much more likable character and even sports has his own series to prove it. I think a game similar to the style of Super Mario 64 (3D environment), but starring Luigi and his rival Waluigi, could work quite well. At the end of the day, all I hope is that Nintendo will finally shed some light on this mystery man.
What are your thoughts? Does Waluigi deserve a true back-story?
