Nintendo Mulling Wii U Name Change
We may not be stuck with the ridiculous name "Wii U" after all. Nintendo is considering changing the name of the Wii U prior to E3. Widespread confusion among consumers at the 3DS's launch, in which some people couldn't tell the difference between DS and 3DS, seems to be the main culprit. Nintendo is determined to learn from the mistakes it made from 3DS, and Satoru Iwata himself stated that Wii needed to learn "a bitter lesson" from 3DS.
What would you like to see the Wii U renamed to?

I've been thinking...
What if the logo stays the same, but it's referred to as Wii Ultra? Seems to me that the logo is semi-official and plastered all over the place already. I just can't seem to think that the logo will change. I could be totally wrong, but it's just a thought.

They should re-name it R2-Wii2
how about the Wii Advanced ?

EDIT: In the end though, I doubt anyone will really care what it's called if the system is badass. For example, the newest model Nissan Skyline GT-R is my dream car. And, if you're not aware, it's simply a badass machine. If it were called a "Skybird" or a "Powder Puff" or whatever else...I'd still get it. That was probably not the greatest of example names but I couldn't think of any good ones, nor did I really care to. The bottom line is that people care about performance. If the "Wii U" gives us that, no one will ever care what it's called.
