Nintendo Registers "Super Mario 4" Domain
A couple of days ago, Nintendo of America registered the domain supermario4.com. Nintendo is known to be working on a 2D Mario game for 3DS, and that is the most likely game to be Super Mario 4. However, the domain registration is by no means a confirmation of the existence of Super Mario 4. At the moment, supermario4.com redirects to nintendo.com.

Yes, Mario is Nintendo's mascot and has been since its inception. I do believe though, that they need to relax a bit on the Mario series. I understand that the series will never go away; that's just a given. I wouldn't want it to, either. What I would love to see, however, is Nintendo develop a brand-new series of some sort. There's a lot of people working in that company that get paid the big bucks to be innovative. Why not come up with a brand new series of some sort?
Also, here's something interesting...
http://www.supermario3.com gets redirected to http://www3.supermario3.com
I could have sworn Nintendo owned that domain name but they don't.
Additionally, supermario4 through supermario10 dot com domains names have already been registered. I'm actually surprised it stopped there. We probably won't ever see a Super Mario Bros. past 5, 6 or 7 but still, I'm surprised.
